As part of Monday's MLK Unity Breakfast ceremonies, Starkville High School junior Leah Gibson read her winning essay about the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Three winners were announced in the competition sponsored by the President's Office and the Office of Diversity and Equity. Second-place winner was Elsie Madison, a senior at Starkville High; third place, Ryan Lawrence, a senior at Starkville Christian School. Each received a monetary award.
