Mississippi State University students partnered with an internationally known planning, landscape architecture, and urban design firm to help create an "eco-resort" on the coast of St. Croix, one of the U.S. Virgin Islands. Part of the planning process, landscape architecture and landscape contracting majors participated in a charrette this week with David Armbruster, a fellow of the American Society of Landscape Architecture and a principal of EDSA, based in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., one of the foremost resort planning and design firms in the world. Shown above from left, Casey Mayne, a junior landscape architecture major of Florence, Owen Harris, a double major in landscape architecture and landscape contracting of Collierville, Tenn., and Cory Lucius, a graduate student in landscape architecture of Starkville, create details for their design plan.
