MSU welcomed Jack Hanna, director emeritus of the Columbus (Ohio) Zoo and Aquarium and host of the "Jack Hanna's Into the Wild" television show, as the College of Veterinary Medicine celebrates its 30th anniversary this weekend. Hanna presented to school children Friday as part of the two-day Pegasus Gala. He brought a two-toed sloth, pictured above, in addition to several other animals he showed the school-agers. In 1981, CVM conferred doctor of veterinary medicine degrees on 25 new graduates. This weekend, the gala celebrates founding faculty and the first graduating class. CVM will open for public tours Saturday at 8 a.m. and will host a tailgate party before MSU's 11:21 a.m. football game against the University of South Carolina.
