The Anthropology Club's "Excavation Simulation Station" gave Starkville area children a chance to participate in an archaeological dig near the Cobb Institute Saturday. The children got their hands dirty while learning about the field of archaeology and excavation techniques. Dylan Karges with the Cobb Institute, who created many of the "artifacts" out of clay, said before the event, "One dirt floor, one plaster floor, 50 plus artifacts, two stone walls, one stone installation, three cubic yards of topsoil and one cubic yard of ash, and we're almost ready to dig it all up again!"
