Demolition is under way of Arbour Acres, a former seven-building residence hall complex near the south end of campus. New residence halls Arbor I and Arbor II are set for new construction at the site and scheduled to be ready for occupancy in Fall 2012. The halls will include a total of 764 beds and 260,000 square feet. The residence halls will feature fully furnished double bedrooms, each with its own bathroom and temperature control. Laundry rooms and kitchens will be available on each floor. The contract cost of $40.137 million includes construction of two buildings, parking, extending the campus chilled water loop and construction of the Hardy Road-to-Magruder Street connector road.
