Ashli E. Brown, an assistant professor in Mississippi State's department of biochemistry, molecular biology, entomology and plant pathology, uses highly specialized equipment at the Mississippi State Chemical Laboratory to analyze harmful mycotoxins that affect crops in the state. Brown and other university researchers have partnered with Agilent Technologies to create the Agilent-MSCL Food and Safety Laboratory on campus. Researchers at the lab will work to better understand dangerous fungi and toxins that naturally contaminate corn and other important crops.
