Leaders of Mississippi State's EcoCar team continue to tweak their vehicle as they ready to compete against 15 other teams in June. The final part of the three-year competition will involve a week in Detroit and an awards ceremony in Washington, D.C. From left, EcoCar team leader Matthew Doude, leader of the electrical group Jonathan Moore and battery integration leader Josh Hoop examine the biodiesel extended-range electric vehicle. MSU placed first in the competition in 2010, when its vehicle recorded achieving 118-miles-per-gallon and the lowest emissions. General Motors and the Department of Energy sponsor the competition.
