Senior architecture major Walt King of Greenville stands on a ladder while measuring the distance on a steel structure behind Giles Hall. Perry and four other students brainstormed, planned and constructed a project for a Maymester course led by visiting assistant professor Jenny Kivett. Students in the class will continue through the weekend working 12-hour days that include welding, pressure-washing and oiling wood, and other labor. Part of MSU's artist incentive program, the finished product will soon debut at a prominent campus location.
