Ragtime virtuoso Frederick Hodges, considered among the best pianists and authorities on the genre, gives Aiken Village preschoolers their first introduction to what many consider to be America's first uniquely original style of music at a special performance leading up to the Charles Templeton Ragtime Festival this weekend. Assisting Hodges is economics professor Kathleen Thomas (L) reading the inter-titles to the audience as he provides accompaniment to a silent Little Rascals episode. Hodges is one of four performers scheduled to present concerts, "living room" sessions and lectures centered around the extensive Templeton collection of Ragtime era music and memorabilia housed at the Mitchell Memorial Library.
