While daffodils are known as early spring bloomers, they've arrived even a little more quickly this year at Mississippi State. The warm temperatures have made the university's favorite flower, also known as jonquils, brighten the campus landscape in anticipation of other blooming plants. Each year since the early 1990s, the Meridian-based company Van Zyverden has donated different varieties, such as King Alfred, Ice Follies and Red Devon.
