During his visit to Mississippi State on Tuesday, intergalactically known astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson explained to a group of students why he made public his thoughts to reclassify Pluto from a planet to a dwarf planet. A best-selling author of "The Pluto Files: The Rise and Fall of America's Favorite Planet" and other books, described to about 50 students at the university's Raspet Flight Research Laboratory the outcry from his position to reclassify the former planet. However, he said Pluto's new place in the scientific world isn't so bad. "I think it's happy there as king of the comets instead of puniest of the planets," he said. Sponsored by the Bagley College of Engineering, Tyson will speak to the public at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Humphrey Coliseum.
