Volunteers at Mississippi State plant a tree near the Lloyd-Ricks-Watson Building during the university\'s recognition of Arbor Day on Friday. National Arbor Day is celebrated on the last Friday in April. However, different parts of the country must adjust their celebratory tree plantings to the local planting seasons. This campus event included a tree planting workshop led by Dr. Paul Meints of the department of plant and soil science. After planting this initial tree, the group went on to add new trees near Bost and the Hunter Henry Center.
