Green and white appear to be the perfect theme for the Christmas tree decorating the 4-H offices in the Bost Extension Center. The national youth organization has a long and fertile history in Mississippi and with Mississippi State University. Born out of the "corn clubs" in Mississippi in the early 1900s, 4-H has its origins in the Magnolia State and soon found a strong partner with the 132-year-old land-grant institution. The organization currently serves more than 109,000 youth in Mississippi and 6 million nationwide, engaging them in activities that teach leadership, citizenship and life skills.
