Starkville residents Shawn Smith(left), Trina Pollan, and Melanie Story admire one of the many ornaments on the 13 elaborately decorated Christmas trees, the focal point for this year's Festival Trees benefiting the United Way of North Central Mississippi.
For a $5 donation, holiday shoppers at the event in the MSU Palmeiro Center can view the ornaments and other items today [Nov. 10] through 7 p.m. All items will be part of a live and silent auction at the festival's Holiday Party Thursday [Nov. 11] at 7 p.m. Music, food and lots of fun will make the event a festive way to get into the holiday spirit. Last year's Festival of Trees raised more than $33,000 for local United Way agencies.
