Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour (standing) was among dignitaries participating in a Friday announcement that California-based Power Integrations would invest $30 million in SemiSouth, a silicon carbide semiconductor industry that was spun off from Mississippi State University research. SemiSouth's manufacturing facility is located in the Thad Cochran Research, Technology, and Economic Development Park adjacent to campus.
