University archaeology professor Evan Peacock displays one of many artifacts found during last month's excavation at Louisiana's Poverty Point Historic Monument. A field course by MSU students and others, the targeted excavation put into practice techniques studied in the classroom. Among the oldest of its kind in the U.S., the complex of mounds and semi-circular ridges near Epps dates from approximately 1500 B.C. For more, click here.
