This arrowhead is one of many prehistoric artifacts discovered by about 15 undergraduate and graduate students spending two weeks in the Mississippi Delta community of Kinlock as part of a summer archaeology field study course. The artifact-rich site, located along the Sunflower River, is from the archaic period and has a variety of relics thought to date back more than 2,500 years. Relics found include pottery shards, animal bones, and human and animal teeth.
