As part of a cooperative effort with the Starkville Public Library's summer reading program, the Barnes & Noble at MSU Bookstore sponsored "Henna Day" Thursday at the campus business. Henna (Lawsonia inermis) is a flowering plant producing a red-orange dye that's been used over thousands of years for body art and hair dye. Junior high student Pooja Shaunak (r) was among the young readers who volunteered her hand as a temporary "canvas" for professional body artist Lisa Rickels.
