Robert Q. Riley, a noted designer of innovative low-energy passenger vehicles, led a special Thursday program at the Center for Advanced Vehicular Systems. The Arizona-based engineer's presentation, "Alternative Cars for the 21st Century," included images and details of his latest concept, the three-wheel, 225-miles-per-gallon XR3 Hybrid. He also praised MSU scientists: "The automotive industry doesn't do this type of research; they need to come to CAVS for this kind of work."
