Actually, student workers Travis McDonald (l), Jeremy Flinn and Emily Clemons are updating vital statistics of the newest member of Mississippi State's white-tailed deer herd. From birth, all fawns at the Wildlife and Fisheries Research and Educational Facility are borrowed periodically from their mothers to be measured and weighed. The native ruminant population is part of an ongoing nutrition and genetic research project led by wildlife biologist Steve Demarais.
