North Farm staff members Alan Mumbower (l) and Scott Hodges were up to their ankles Wednesday in a scarce local commodity--mud. To deal with a crippling late spring drought affecting much of the Southeast, MSU agricultural researchers, like others, are irrigating to keep young plants alive. A 60 percent rain prediction for Tuesday seems the only hope for some temporary relief.
