To celebrate its 100th year in the state, members of 4-H Mississippi formed a giant clover leaf--the organization's familiar symbol--on the Drill Field at the conclusion their recent convention. The national organization has its roots literally and figuratively at the former Mississippi A&M College. In 1907, Holmes County educator William Smith and A&M professor Robert Perkins organized corn clubs to teach students about basic agriculture. The photograph was taken from the Swalm Building.
