G.V. "Sonny" Montgomery attended the announcement of his namesake awards Monday in spirit, along with a bust in his image commissioned by Mitchell Memorial Library. MSU students Joshua S. Burnett of Saucier, Aaron R. Rice of Sumrall and Christopher S. Walker of Newton each received $5,000 scholarships given to honor the longtime congressman and 1944 Mississippi State graduate.
