Faculty member Barry Stewart of Plant and Soil Sciences was up to his elbows in DAKOTA peat earlier this week. Atop a mechanical blender at the North Farm, he supervised a mixing of the highly organic, commercially produced material with sand to be applied on new putting greens being built near the Memorial Rose Garden at the Foil Plant Science Research Facility.
