Mississippi State is playing an important role in the evaluation and conservation of work by one of the state's most famous artists, Walter Anderson. Damaged by Hurricane Katrina in 2005, the works are being stored in a secure and climate-controlled space maintained by the university. Here, conservator Mary McGinn of the Winterthur Museum in Delaware carefully unrolls a block print on wallpaper.
