An intensified downdraft from Thursday morning's passing storm front likely is the source of damage to the roof and control tower at Mississippi State's Raspet Flight Research Laboratory. Built in the mid-1960s at Starkville's Bryan Field airport, the university facility apparently took the biggest local hit from the bad weather, though the nearby Wal-Mart Supercenter and a residential complex in the area also were impacted by the high winds.
