Matt Brock of Fayette, Ala., a Mississippi State University junior majoring in wildlife science, displays a lizard temporarily captured during a nature excursion Tuesday at Jeff Busby Park on the Natchez Trace in Choctaw County. Observing and/or taking photos of the captive were (l to r) Hunter Smith, a sixth grade student at Starkville's Henderson Elementary School; and Michael Wynn, Victor Carr and Robert Jameson, all rising ninth-grade students at Starkville High School. They were taking part in MSU's Career and Research Exploration for Students and Teachers--known as CREST--which is a program of the university's Center for Science, Mathematics and Technology.
