Dr. Richard E. Holmes, the first African-American student to enroll at Mississippi State, addressed a packed Humphrey Coliseum Saturday during 2003 commencement ceremonies. Now on the staff of MSU’s Longest Student Health Center, he urged graduates to carry a torch for MSU, Mississippi, their families, and themselves.
