MERIDIAN, MS—Expect heartache, healing and hope, as well as breathtaking moments of musical beauty, as the MSU Riley Center presents "An Acoustic Evening with Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit" on Thursday, April 11, at 7:30 p.m.

The band’s latest album, “The Nashville Sound,” won Grammy Awards for best Americana album and best American roots song (“If We Were Vampires”). If they gave out Grammys for emotional intensity, honesty and wry humor, Isbell and the 400 Unit would have swept those, too.

Isbell, a native of Green Hill, Alabama, became a star as a member of Drive-By Truckers. After years of personal troubles, he has found peace and joy with his wife and frequent vocal duet partner, violinist Amanda Shires, and their young daughter. His songs look back on the travails of the past and forward to the promise of the future with clarity and insight. The 400 Unit provides a musical setting that matches the simultaneous restraint and power of his lyrics.

Hard-earned wisdom. Profound truths. A quintessentially American artist at the height of his powers. "An Acoustic Evening with Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit" will bring it all to the MSU Riley Center stage in a show audience members will talk about forever.

Tickets for this show are $88 and $82 at the MSU Riley Center Box Office, which is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Tickets can be purchased online at www.msurileycenter.com or by phone at 601-696-2200.
