Keenum to represent SEC on College Football Playoffs board

STARKVILLE, Miss.-- Mississippi State University President Mark E. Keenum has been appointed to the College Football Playoff's (CFP) Board of Managers.

Keenum succeeds former University of Florida President Bernie Machen as the SEC's representative on the board.

"The Southeastern Conference has a long and distinguished history in college football and I look forward to representing the interests of the SEC on this important board," said Keenum. "I believe that the first year of the College Football Playoff was a huge success and I look forward to working with the representatives of the nation's other major athletic conferences to help ensure the continued growth and success of the CFP."

The CFP Board of Managers is the governing board of CFP Administration, LLC, the company that manages the administrative operations of the College Football Playoff. Members of the company are the 10 Football Bowl Subdivision conferences (American Athletic, Atlantic Coast, Big Ten, Big 12, Conference USA, Mid-American, Mountain West, Pac-12, Southeastern and Sun Belt) and the University of Notre Dame.

The company's business, property and affairs are governed by the board. The board develops, reviews and approves annual budgets, policies and operating guidelines. It also appoints and removes officers of the company. It has authority of overall primary aspects of the company's operations.
