STARKVILLE, Miss.--Starkville native Jan R. Blaine is the new assistant director of development for Mississippi State's James Worth Bagley College of Engineering.
He began fundraising duties with the university this week.
Blaine is an MSU alumnus who graduated, cum laude, in 2009 with degrees in general business administration and sports communication, followed by an MBA the following year. He previously was a regional sales representative with Severstal North America.
"We are extremely pleased that Jan is joining our team of development professionals," said Jack McCarty.
"The Bagley College of Engineering has a great history of private support, and we look forward to Jan's help in working with alumni and friends to advance MSU," the MSU Foundation's executive director added.
Blaine joins Bennett Evans, Bagley's development director, and fellow assistant director Paul Zimmerman in working to secure gifts for one of the 136-year-old land-grant institution's oldest academic units.
Also among the largest academic units on campus, the Bagley College of Engineering is home to eight departments and 10 certification programs. U.S. News and World Report ranks its undergraduate and graduate programs among the top 100 nationwide. For more, visit www.engr.msstate.edu.
MSU fundraising efforts currently are focused around an ongoing capital campaign known as "Infinite Impact." To date, more than $473 million has been raised toward a $600 million goal.
