The Japan Outreach Program at Mississippi State has two upcoming public events, and members of the campus and local community are invited to attend:
On Monday [Nov. 10], a Japanese cultural celebration and public gallery reception will be held in the Colvard Student Union Art Gallery from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Visitors will see displays and demonstrations celebrating Japanese culture, including Japanese dance, Kimono wearing and a small-scale tea ceremony. Food and beverages will be provided.
On Thursday [Nov. 13], the Japan-America Society of Mississippi (JASMIS) will be hosting a reception at Mississippi State's Bost Conference Center. The purpose of this reception will be to introduce JASMIS to local businesses, schools and individuals interested in learning more or joining JASMIS. There will be two special guests: Consul General Motohiko Kato from the Consul-General of Japan in Nashville and Peter Kelly, president of the National Association of Japan-America Societies from Washington, D.C.
