Mississippi State Universityâs Student Support Services office encourages interested students, faculty and staff to attend the ACCESS programâs meet-and-greet event Thursday [Nov. 13] in Montgomery Hall, Room 01.
Beginning at 2 p.m., members of the campus community will have the opportunity to interact with students currently enrolled in the universityâs ACCESS program.
Complimentary refreshments will be provided.
MSU established the ACCESS program in 2010, becoming the only university in the state to provide post-secondary education opportunities for students with intellectual disabilities.
ACCESS students live in on-campus housing, audit traditional academic courses, utilize all student amenities, join campus organizations, volunteer to help with campus events and pursue on-campus employment.
Students who successfully complete all fours years of the ACCESS program receive a certificate of completion and participate in MSUâs graduation ceremonies.
âACCESS allows our students to experience college life to the fullest while learning to develop life skills, independence and job skills for gainful employment,â said Elizabeth Williams, ACCESS coordinator and instructor.
