Visitors to Mississippi State this weekend will enjoy an array of activities centering around MSUâs football matchup with No. 6 Texas A&M at 11 a.m. on Saturday [Oct. 4]. The Dawg Walk commences at 9 a.m. just as âSEC Nation," the SEC Network's traveling college football morning show, is originating in the Junction, where free t-shirts will be given to the first 350 fans.
Pre-game activities include a special tribute to legendary voice of the Bulldogs Jack Cristil, who passed away Sept. 7. Members of the 1974 Sun Bowl team will also be recognized during the halftime show.
Those getting to Starkville early will want to check out Thursday eveningâs [Oct. 2] Forever Maroon & White in Lee Hall at 6 p.m. Open to all, the event explores the universityâs rich traditions. On the panel will be Jimmy Abraham, Roy Ruby, Bailey Howell and Johnie Cooks.
On Friday [Oct. 3], MSU pays tribute to its 17th president, J. Charles Lee, with the naming of its Agricultural and Biological Engineering Building. The dedication is slated for Friday at 3 p.m.
Bulldog Bash also gets underway in the Cotton District on Friday afternoon. Maroon Market and Grill Your Bash Off are set for 2 p.m. followed by the Dawg Rally featuring Dan Mullen at 5:15 p.m. Concerts begin on 7 p.m. on the main stage with country music star Justin Moore closing things out at 10 p.m. For more info, see www.msubulldogbash.com.
