Sen. Kenneth Wayne Jones
Sen. Kenneth Wayne Jones, D-Canton, will address the March 3 Stennis-Capitol Press Forum, which will be held from noon to 1 p.m. at The Capital Club, 125 South Congress Street, 19th floor, in downtown Jackson.
Jones is chairman of the Interstate and Federal Cooperation Committee, and represents District 21, which includes Attala, Holmes, Madison and Yazoo counties.
He was re-elected as chairman of the Mississippi Legislative Black Caucus for the 2014-16 term. A statement from the caucus said: âAs its chairman, Senator Jones has led the caucus fight against issues such as voter ID, preserving the 13th retirement check of state employees, increasing teacher pay and seeking raises for state employees. In addition, Senator Jones has been vocal on full funding of public education, and expansion of Medicaid under the Affordable Care Act.â
