STARKVILLE, Miss.--A Division of Student Affairs organization at Mississippi State is seeking host families for its Linking Internationals in the Community program.
Friday (Feb. 7) is the deadline for interested individuals to complete an online application to the university's Richard Holmes Cultural Diversity Center. Forms must be submitted by at 5 p.m. at www.linc.msstate.edu.
The LINC program is designed to build relationships that will help international students learn more about American culture and better acquaint themselves with the Starkville and Golden Triangle communities.
Participating students will not reside with the local residents; rather, they will be joining host families for various events, some sponsored by the Holmes Center. Families signing up also will have opportunities to schedule events on their own.
A LINC welcome reception Feb. 10 will introduce this year's host families and international students. The event begins at 6 p.m. in the Honors Forum Room on the fourth floor of Griffis Residence Hall.
