Extreme cold to impact region, MSU campus

Much of the region, including the Mississippi State University campus in Starkville, will fall below freezing later this afternoon and remain at or below freezing until late Saturday morning. Overnight lows tonight will be dangerously cold, nearing single digits.

Furthermore, another period of below freezing temperatures will begin Monday afternoon [Jan. 27], lasting until mid-day Thursday [Jan. 30] with nighttime lows through the period again near single digits.

Please take appropriate precautions when traveling to and from campus. Also, organizations or departments that have planned activities during these cold periods are urged to take into consideration exposure to the elements.
