The deadline for students entering papers for the Maroon Edition Essay Contest for Freshmen or for Maroon & Write with the Maroon Edition is Jan. 27 by 5 p.m.
Any freshman may submit an essay for the Maroon Edition Essay Contest for Freshmen. Compositions should be based on Richard Muller's book "Physics for Future Presidents," the Maroon Edition book selection for the fall 2013 semester.
There will be first, second and third place winners, as well as recognition and prizes. First will win $500, second will receive $300 and third will get $100.

Any MSU undergraduate, sophomore or higher, may enter the Maroon & Write with the Maroon Edition contest. Participants should write a position paper on one of the five thematic areas of "Physics for Future Presidents."
