Join the Department of Health Education and Wellness at Mississippi State University and others around the globe by supporting World Diabetes Day on Thursday [Nov. 14].
This date marks the birthday of Frederick Banting, who, along with Charles Best, is credited with the discovery of insulin.
Blue is often worn on this day as a statement to raise awareness of this disease, which in the United States alone, impacts the 26 million who have diabetes, 79 million with pre-diabetes, and the many friends and family who care for and support them.
Blood glucose test, diabetes screenings and additional resources will be available in Colvard Student Union's Dawg House from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
