The first day of Mississippi State University’s fall break -- Oct. 24 -- coincides with the date of the Thursday night football game on campus with the University of Kentucky. This fall's calendar was planned to minimize disruptions to the academic programs on the Starkville campus.

In order to prepare campus for the influx of fans, there will be an early dismissal of selected staff at noon on Oct. 24.

Staff who are not needed to work on that Thursday afternoon in support of game day activities or other critical university functions will be released at noon. Staff members should check with their supervisors to determine whether their services will be needed in the afternoon.

A separate email from Campus Services will be sent later to address parking issues in preparation for the Thursday night game with Kentucky.

Thank you for your assistance in making sure that the university is able to efficiently and safely accommodate large numbers of visitors that day.
