Mississippi State's Howell Observatory will be open Saturday night [Sept. 14] for a special viewing.
Starting at 7:30 p.m., the general public is welcome to view the moon, Saturn, the Ring Nebula and the Andromeda galaxy along with university experts from the physics and astronomy department.
The observatory is located on the MSU South Farm, which may be accessed via Stone Boulevard Extended, located south of the recreational sports department's RecPlex.
Inclement weather will cancel the viewing.
