STARKVILLE, Miss.--An April 22 concert by the Berlin Philharmonic Wind Ensemble concludes the 2012-13 Lyceum Series at Mississippi State.
The university performance by the four-man, one-woman group will begin at 7:30 p.m. in Lee Hall's Bettersworth Auditorium.
General admission tickets are $18 each; $15 for MSU employees. All seats, including those of season-ticket holders, temporarily are considered general admission because of major Lee Hall renovations now under way.
To make advance purchases, visit www.lyceum.msstate.edu or the university's Center for Student Activities in Colvard Student Union Suite 314. MSU students with valid identification cards may obtain free tickets at the office or the door.
Because of construction, auditorium entrances and exits may only be made through the east-side--nearest to McCain Hall--doors.
Formed in 1988 and currently including four Germans and a Scotsman, the internationally acclaimed musicians form the first permanently established wind quintet in the famous orchestra's rich and long tradition of chamber music.
Based, in part, on their vast musical skills and range of expression, the group has been hailed by critics for "virtually redefining the sound of the classical wind quintet." In addition to covering the spectrum of wind quintet literature, its repertoire also includes works typically performed by larger ensembles. For more, visit www.windquintet.com/en/.
