STARKVILLE, Miss.--A high-energy cast of eight dancers and two singers will be in the spotlight April 9 during Mississippi State's next Lyceum Series event.
"TAP--The Show" has been described as "an explosion of dazzling costumes, soaring orchestral scores and award-winning performers in a celebration of tap dance artistry from around the world."
The 7:30 p.m. Tuesday performance takes place in Lee Hall's Bettersworth Auditorium. General admission tickets are $18; $15 for MSU employees.
All seats, including those of season-ticket holders, temporarily are considered general admission because of major Lee Hall renovations now under way. Also, persons attending may only enter and exit through the east-side--nearest to McCain Hall--doors.
To purchase tickets in advance, visit www.lyceum.msstate.edu--or the university's Center for Student Activities in Colvard Student Union Suite 314.
MSU students with valid identification cards may obtain free tickets via the above online link. Advanced sign-up is encouraged.
In sections that cover seamlessly decades of styles from Big Band to world music to pop rock, TAP's performance includes recreations of Fred Astaire and Gene Kelly numbers, Broadway showstoppers, soft shoe, flamenco, tribal, and Irish step, among others.
