STARKVILLE, Miss.--Mississippi State University's risk management, insurance and financial planning program again will host its annual I-Day, one of the largest insurance conferences in the South.
The April 2-3 event at the Colvard Student Union will include a variety of panels and sessions with up to 12 hours of continuing education units offered for professionals in Mississippi, Alabama and Tennessee. A session on ethics has been added this year in addition to programs in property/casualty, life/health, claims, and continuing legal education.

Keynote speaker, Dr. Brad Nieder, a medical doctor and comedian known as "the healthy humorist," will present his medical comedy and wellness advice. The conference also will include Commissioner Mike Chaney of the Mississippi Department of Insurance and many other industry speakers.
Among this year's topics are current updates on the Health Insurance Exchange, Managing your Insurance Costs through Worker's Comp, Current State of Healthcare, ReInsurance Issues, Estate/Tax Planning, among other sessions. A Tuesday golf tournament also will be held at the MSU Golf Course.
Insurance Day annually attracts industry professionals throughout the Southeast. MSU's risk management and insurance program has been recognized by the publication Risk Management as No. 8 among the Top 10 Largest Risk Management and Insurance Education Programs in the nation based on number of graduates.
The program, housed in the College of Business's Finance and Economics Department, attracts students by offering internship and job placement opportunities. Many students participate in the Pi Chapter of Gamma Iota Sigma, the international risk management, insurance and actuarial science collegiate fraternity.
