Ragtime festival returns to MPB programming

STARKVILLE, Miss.--Mississippi Public Broadcasting will air highlights of the Charles Templeton Ragtime Jazz Festival this Friday [March 1] in a two-part show beginning at 8 p.m.

Musicians Brian Holland, Jeff Barnhart, Sonny Leyland and Martin Spitznagel will be featured on stage and in interviews from the 2012 festival, along with ragtime historian David Jasen. Their biographies are available at http://library.msstate.edu/ragtime/festival/festival12/artists.html.

The broadcast, which was produced by MSU's Television Center, is being co-sponsored by the MSU Libraries and Mitchell Memorial Library-based Charles Templeton Sr. Music Museum; Starkville Area Arts Council; Starkville Rotary Club; Greater Starkville Development Partnership; and, in part, by grants from the Mississippi Arts Council and National Endowment for the Arts.
