The Starkville/Mississippi State University Symphony Orchestra will hold its annual spring concert March 2 in the First Baptist Church sanctuary.

Free and open to all, the 7:30 p.m. program is titled "Best of Beethoven III." The program will feature selections by German composer Ludwig van Beethoven from the Romantic period (1810-1900).

The church is located downtown on West Lampkin Street, across from city hall.

Sponsored, in part, by Renasant Bank, the performance opens with "Coriolanus Overture," conducted by Richard Human, MSU associate music professor who also conducts the MSU Philharmonia.

The philharmonia, MSU's student orchestra, will join the SSO on the famous overture.

"Piano Concerto No. 4" will be the program's second piece. Associate music professor Rosangela Sebba will be featured as piano soloist.

The Saturday night event concludes with the great composer's "Symphony No. 7."
