Safe Zone awareness, advocacy training offered

The Safe Zone Advisory Board is offering a general Safe Zone LGBTQ Awareness Training (6-9:00 pm) for students, faculty and staff on Monday [Feb. 4], from 6-9 p.m., in the Colvarnd Student Union, Foster Ballroom. Safe Zone promotes a welcoming and safe community for LGBTQ students, faculty and staff. Allies, who have completed awareness training, are any individuals committed to providing and maintaining a welcoming and safe community. Ally certificates, doorhangers and stickers will be given following this training.

Also, new this semester is the Safe Zone Advocacy Training on Monday [Feb. 4], from 3-5 p.m.], in the Colvard Student Union, Foster Ballroom. This training is open only to individuals who have attended a previous MSU Safe Zone Awareness Training. Many students, faculty and staff have requested additional training that addresses situational responses, becoming an advocate, and special topics. This session will address bullying and legal issues. Participants will receive a certificate of completion and CEU's upon request.
