One Million Bones is a national non-profit organization that seeks to raise awareness of humanitarian crises around the world. This volunteer opportunity entails making clay bones that will generate $1 for each bone made. The money generated will be sent back to areas with on-going crises in Central Africa and the Middle East. The bones themselves will be placed at the National Mall in Washington, D.C. in the spring of 2013. The goal for the state of Mississippi is to produce 7,000 bones.
To help out with the MSU on-campus effort, volunteers are needed to assist with bone making. The dates are as follows:
--Wednesday Oct. 10, 7-10 p.m., in the South Hall 4th floor conference room.
--Saturday, Oct. 27, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., in the South Hall 4th floor conference room.
--Tuesday, Nov. 27, 7-10 p.m., in the Colvard Student Union Ballroom, Section U.
