Nineteen top students are leaders of the 2012 orientation programs at Mississippi State.
Working with the Office of Admissions and Scholarships, team members provide assistance and share their knowledge of the university with incoming freshmen and transfer students--and their parents--during various registration and information sessions.
Selection of orientation leaders involves a rigorous screening process; more than 50 students applied for this year's positions.
The 2012 MSU Orientation Leaders include (by hometown):
AUBURN, Ala.--Sophomore Christie T. Williams, a marketing major and the daughter of Jerry and Lynn Williams. She is a 2010 graduate of Auburn High School.
BRUCE--Sophomore Kimberly D. Walker, an elementary education major and the daughter of Mark and Doris Walker. She is a 2010 Bruce High School graduate.
WINONA--Sophomore Jennifer S. Brown, an English major with a minor in architecture and the daughter of Stephen and Debbie Brown. She is a 2010 Pillow Academy graduate.
CLINTON--Junior Tatum D. Turan, a communication major and the daughter of Robin Turan. She is a 2009 graduate of Clinton High School.
COLLIERVILLE, Tenn. --Sophomore Taylor A. King, a secondary education major and the daughter of Terry and Laurie King. She is a 2010 Saint Benedict at Auburndale graduate.
GUNTOWN--Sophomore Judson D. Roberts, a biological sciences major and the son of Rickey and Marsha Roberts. He is a 2010 graduate of New Albany High School.
HOOVER, Ala.--Sophomore Alex K. Ezelle, a pre-accounting major and the son of Kendall and Karen Ezelle. He is a 2010 Hoover High School graduate.
JACKSON--Sophomore Kathleen A. McMullin, a special education major and the daughter of Scott and Theresa McMullin. She is a 2010 St. Joseph Catholic School graduate.
LOUISVILLE--Sophomore Mary Claire Porter, a history major and the daughter of Alfred and Rhonda Porter. She is a 2010 Winston Academy graduate.
MADISON--Sophomore Caroline M. Coleman, a biological sciences major and the daughter of Pat and Leslie Coleman. She is a 2010 Madison County High School graduate.
MEMPHIS, Tenn.--Sophomore Michael A. Hogan, a business administration major and the son of Michael and Amy Hogan. He is a 2010 Saint Benedict at Auburndale graduate.
MERIDIAN--Kaeley N. Gemmill, a political science major, the daughter of Timothy and Brenda Seymour and a 2010 Lamar High School graduate; and John J. Sims, a marketing major, the son of Lorraine Boyd and a 2010 Meridian High School graduate. Both are sophomores.
PHILADELPHIA--Sophomore Joshua T. Stewart, a biological sciences major and the son of Granville and Laura Stewart. He is a 2010 Neshoba Central High School graduate.
PONTOTOC--Sophomore Whitney Ray, a kinesiology major, the daughter of Robert and Deborah Ray and a 2010 Pontotoc High School graduate; and junior Carson E. Shock, a secondary education major, the daughter of Roger and Jan Shock and a 2009 Tupelo High School graduate.
STARKVILLE--Senior Lindsay S. Linhares, a communication/journalism and political science double-major and the daughter of Gerald and Susan Linhares. She is a 2009 Starkville High School graduate.
