STARKVILLE, Miss.--The Grammy award-winning duo Sugarland headlines Mississippi State University's upcoming 26th annual Super Bulldog Weekend.

Country music singer-songwriters Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush take the stage at Davis Wade Stadium immediately following the Maroon-White Game, which begins at 5 p.m. Saturday, [April 21]. Since breaking onto the national music scene in 2004, the duo has sold more than 14 million records.

Sponsored by Regions Bank, Super Bulldog Weekend also involves an array of traditional spring homecoming events for Bulldog fans. The barbecue pig-cooking competition gets under way at 8 a.m. Friday, the 20th, on the lawn behind McArthur Hall, with judging scheduled 9 a.m.-noon Saturday.

Three days of Southeastern Conference athletic events will include the Thursday-Sunday men's Southeastern Conference tennis championships at the Pitts Tennis Centre and Thursday-Saturday baseball series with the University of Tennessee Volunteers at Polk-DeMent Stadium at Dudy Noble Field (Thursday game on ESPNU). A women's softball series with the University of Kentucky Wildcats also will be played Friday-Sunday at the softball field located just north of the Shira Field House.

--10 a.m., soccer alumni match, MSU Soccer Field.

--10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., family-friendly fan fair, with football team members signing autographs and mascot Bully posing for photographs, the Junction.

--11 a.m., volleyball alumni match, Newell-Grissom Building.

--2-5 p.m., Department of Art Alumni Reception, Visual Arts Center, 800 University Dr. (across State Highway 12 Bypass bridge).

--3-4:30 p.m., ice cream giveaway sponsored by the MSU Alumni Association, front of the Leo Seal M-Club Building.
